WCN 2011 is organized by the International Society of Nephrology in cooperation with the Canadian Society of Nephrology.

ISN is a global not-for-profit society dedicated to its philanthropic mission of advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of kidney diseases in the developing and developed world.

Since its foundation in 1960, ISN has pursued the worldwide advancement of education, science and patient care in nephrology. The Society represents a wide international network and provides an efficient platform for timely scientific exchange, debate and dissemination between healthcare professionals around the world.

ISN has over 9,000 professional members from more than 125 countries. In addition, ISN closely collaborates with over 70 national and regional nephrology societies around the world, representing about 20,000 professionals.

The Canadian Society of Nephrology, CSN

The Canadian Society of Nephrology is a society of physicians and scientists specializing in the care of people with kidney disease, and in research related to the kidney and kidney disease.

CSN mission is to promote the highest quality of care for patients with renal diseases by setting high standards for medical training and education and to increase the knowledge, skills and attitudes of nephrologists. An essential component of the CSN is to encourage research in biomedical sciences related to the kidney, kidney disorders and renal replacement therapies so as to improve the delivery of health care related to nephrology by promoting the continuing professional competence of nephrologists and to encourage and support scholarly and ethical approaches to the enhancement of the specialty.
